Wayne's Story... Wentworth of the Carolinas is a culmination of my passion and a belief in the talents we possess; creating an environment where you are encouraged to create as well as use timeless skills that have been the foundation of our trade. I grew up working on the jobsites of homes my father built. My dad taught me everything from cleaning up around the jobsite to how to swing a hammer. In my early 20's I moved to Florida and worked as lead carpenter on some of the first of many large homes built in Boca Raton. I started my first cabinet shop in a 12’ x 12’ space, with a 1958 Powermatic saw. Opportunities led me to work in St. Thomas, Virgin Islands; in the resorts as well as homes. I always look back to the first shop I had and have a hard time believing sometimes how that all led to where we are today. |

| Nearly 20 years ago
I met a group of tradesmen from England who designed and built
what is known as the “fitted kitchen”. I spent close to 10 years
studying and learning from these talented individuals. Many
hours were also spent in the museum in York, England, studying
rooms that were preserved, so as to develop looks and finishes
that have an authenticity about them. I have remained true to my goal of building and finishing what are amazing kitchens. Based on traditional values and a desired goal by Wentworth and its staff to excel in our skills, we present you with Wentworth of the Carolinas, operating in the heart of Americas Furniture Country. |
