Frame construction

  • Kitchen cabinet frames being assembled.Frames are assembled using pocket screws and glue which means that the screws are not visible and yet provide great strength.
  • Then they are sized for thickness.
  • Frames are then hand sanded.
  • Bead moulding is applied protruding slightly on the front which means that our frames represent true beaded inset furniture.

     

Door construction
 

  • Wood is cut to size and sorted.Wood is sized and prepared.
  • Pieces are then run thru shapers to process the mortise and tenon for assembly.
  • Rubber space balls are inserted to keep the center panel balanced which means that any movement in the wood panel will remain balanced.
  • Parts are then glued and pressed in clamp.
  • The door is then sanded.
  • Door is stained underneath where moulding will cover which means that the panel can move freely under the moulding.
  • Final stage is trimming of the door.
  • At this point the doors are ready for fitting

     

Glass door
 

  • Wood is cut to size and sorted.The glass door is assembled.
  • Pieces for mullions are then prepared so that our glass doors represent true divided lites.
  • The door is assembled.
  • The door is put though a sander for thickness.
  • The trim is then applied to the front of the door.
  • Glass is inserted and then trimmed.

     

Drawer construction
 

  • Solid maple is sized for thickness through the planner.Wood pieces are cut to length
  • The wood is cut to length.
  • The wood goes through the dovetailer.
  • Dado for bottoms which allows for the ½” bottom so drawers can hold the weight of pots and pans.
  • Drawers are assembled.
  • Notch for hardware.
  • The drawers are sanded and finished.

     

Door sizing and hinging
 

  • Doors are sized for opening.Doors are sanded.
  • Hinges are placed on frame.
  • Mortise hinge in door.
  •  Check fit.
  • Ready for finishing.

Parts are glued and pressed in a clamp.

The final stage of trimming the door.

At this point, the doors are ready for fitting.
       
The glass door is assembled.

The drawers are glued and strongly assembled.
